THE CREATION OF A NEW KAYAK CLUB FOR STRANRAER

Every participant to the Blue Water Kayak Club, must successfully pass a float test prior to the first water session of a small craft class. It is also a membership requirement for us all at the Blue Water Kayak Club Stranraer. In deep water, while wearing long pants and a long sleeve shirt, you must float, tread water, or swim in place for ten minutes.
In the final minute of the test you must put on a life vest while continuing to tread water. A ten-minute float test is valid for three years.
You must show ID with your name to the Leader who will be taking the Float Test on the day. Float tests must be taken at our swimming pool under the supervision of a lifeguard who is certified. Regular pool admission is charged. This test cannot be administered outside our test area.
